DO3DScans specialise in the application of 3D scanning technology using a whole array of techniques. We serve all market places from commodity lower grade requirements, macro large scale terrestrial scanning to high end micro metrology grade scanning and reverse engineering.
Our DOCAN Engineering team consists of professional engineers and designers and is equipped with the latest computer aided engineering software. Unlike other companies, we can complete real Reverse Engineering which may involve stress analysis, fluid dynamics, materials characterisation (composition and strength determination) etc. The end aim is to supply the client with sufficient documentation (drawings, calculations, reports), which will enable them to reproduce and improve legacy engineered equipment. We can also complete 3D printing either from the reverse engineered parts and assemblies or from the raw 3D scanning.

Scan to As-Built Site
We have the experience to scan and then create as-built plant models with PDMS, CADworx, Plant 3D and others. We use Leica Cloudworx to quickly interrogate scan data into actual geometry. The output for you can be VR walk through's, intelligent P&ID's, ISO and so much more.

reverse engineering
We can come to you and scan your equipment with our scanning technology and then fully reverse engineer this, including the creation of 3D Prints, 3D CAD and detailed drawings, and if this includes engineering requirements.

Since we are part of a larger organisation we have access to cutting edge technology, in forms of software, hardware and expertise. Our scanning equipment comes from Leica Geosystems, FARO, Creaform. We extensively use Solidworks, Brickscad, Cloudworxs, CADworxs, MSC APEX and many others.

We use a combination of software to deal with scanning point clouds, computer aided design, and reverse engineering. These include Cyclone, MSC APEX, Solidwork, Design X, Rhinoseros and any other technology which may be of use.
The cost of 3D scanning depends on your needs. We can scan with metrology grade scanners, or scanners with suitable accuracy, with hand held scanners, or longer range terrestrial scanners. We can also complete the post processing of the scan (i.e. scan to CAD for instance). This can be a simple CAD representations, to highly detailed Engineering.
3D scanning is suitable for individuals with a simple specific need, all the way to multinationals. We have the right technology and associated cost depending on the required job.
We can scan small objects all the way to full buildings or sites, using a combination of technology.
